Arran was granted an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) licence from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in December 1996, a revised licence in July 2007, and most recently a newly revised Industrial Emission Licence (IEL) in July 2021. Arran manages its environmental control programme within the terms of the IEL licence and the supervision by the Irish Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The licence and ISO drives a process of continual improvement in the setting of target & objectives to reduce the environmental impact of site operations. The licence requires Arran to submit an Annual Environmental Report’s (AER) to the EPA, with Agency providing these for inspection by any member of the public.

Arran’s Environmental Management System is accredited to the ISO14001 environmental standard.
