Our reaction technology is supported and reinforced by a continuous programme of investment in research and development, leading to significant process innovation and technical improvements.

The application of biocatalysts in the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries continues to grow as it moves from the domain of specialised technology to mainstream methodology. Arran is the industry leader in the development and scaleup of biocatalysis technology and has approximately ten enzymatic processes operating at commercial scale. We have significantly invested in this area to secure the supply of selectAZymeTM biocatalysts for clients’ manufacturing projects.

With well-integrated laboratory and production facilities on one site, we can work from gram scale in our development laboratories, through kilo lab and pilot plant, to multi-tonne scale in our main production plant.
Our range of equipment enables us to handle solid and liquid products, with a reaction temperature range from -40°C to +200°C, and the routine use of low pressure (vacuum) distillation.
